The District is currently providing funding opportunities under several components of its Public Benefit Grants Program to local public agencies. The program was developed and designed to meet the needs and challenges faced by Valley public institutions by providing funds towards a wide variety of clean-air, public-benefit projects which will provide a direct benefit to Valley residents.
Applicant Eligibility
Funding for this program is limited to public agencies such as cities, counties, special districts (i.e. water districts, irrigation districts, etc.), and public educational institutions (i.e. school districts, community colleges, state universities, etc.) located within the geographic boundaries of the District.
Components & Incentive Amounts
This component provides funding for the purchase of new alternative fueled vehicles (Electric, Plug-In Hybrid, CNG, LNG, LPG, etc). Applications for this component are currently being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. For specific information about the requirements of the component, please review the program guidelines.
Maximum Funding: Up to $20,000 per vehicle, with a limit of $100,000 per agency per year.

This component provides match assistance funding for land use and community development projects that reduce vehicle use and emissions through enhanced walkability and increased use of zero and near-zero emission transportation options.
Maximum Funding: Up to $3,000,000 per project, up to 50% of the total project cost, with a limit of $3,000,000 per agency per funding cycle.
